As much as I love film festivals, the biggest downside is having to either wait to see certain films you missed, or having to wait to see the films you loved again. Sound of Metal is definitely the latter.
Luckily, its not that too much longer to wait! I’ve already wait a year, what’s another month? Or one and a half, if you wait for VOD.
Here’s the trailer for Sound of Metal.
Sound of Metal was written and directed by Darius Marder in his feature debut. Darius previously wrote a draft of The Place Beyond the Pines, which is one of my favourite films. This, plus the cast is what had me intrigued in the first. With both Riz Ahmed, and Olivia Cooke, I was all-in for the film.
Sound of Metal is about a heavy metal drummer (Ahmed) whose life is upended when he loses his hearing. The trailer (and film) have closed captions for the hearing and non-hearing communites to enjoy the film.
I can’t wait to see the film again, and can’t wait for you all to watch it as well.

Sound of Metal is opening in select theatres on November 20th.
And on demand on December 4th.
