After what seems to be forever, The Crown is finally coming back to us. With season two having dropped in December 2017, it has been almost two years since the critically acclaimed series was on our screens. But fear not because it is coming back and Netflix just released the first trailer for the upcoming season which arrives on November 17, 2019.

Spanning over the period of 1964 to 1977, the new season seems to be focused on the darker days of the monarchy. With a new cast lead by Oscar Winner Olivia Coleman (The Favourite, Broadchurch), The Crown will introduce characters that have defined the decades. Joining Coleman will be Helena Boham Carter as Princess Margaret, Tobias Menzies as Prince Phillip, Josh O’Connor as Prince Charles and Emerald Fennell as Camilla Parker Bowles.

Season 3 and 4 will probably be packaged together just like season 1 and 2 were. With season 4 promising the introduction of two very important characters, Lady Diana portrayed by newcomer Emma Corrin and Margaret Thatcher portrayed by Gillian Anderson, it is something to look forward to as the show progresses in time.
